KAOS volunteer Jimbo Jitsu took a bunch of great photos of local musicians at the third annual Love Our Local Fest in Northeast Olympia on August 25. Here are a few of our favorites.
One of the great things about being a 40 year-old radio station has been the opportunity to work with so many amazing local non-profit organizations and independent musicians. This weekend, Olympia will celebrate many of them at Love Our Local Fest.
Performers this year includ Sejd Behrend, Rag Darma, Mudgat, AKA and the Heart Hurt Goods, DJ Oki Brown, the Pine Hearts, the Brown Edition, Erev Rav, High Ceiling, Scott Askew, Blair Lundstedt, Chicadee, Mukana Marimba, the Hinges, Mike Mercer & Friends, Scuff and Al Show, the Lost Keys, and Los Hermanos Rumberos.
It’s happening from 1 to 9 PM at Bethel St. NE and Sanfrancisco Ave. NE. The schedule and additional information is available at loveourlocalfest.org.
This past April, the Olympia Ballroom presented a show in celebration of KAOS’ 40th anniversary with Afromassive and Kasata Sound (an electronic music project of kora player Kane Mathis). Here are a few photos from the show.
The first Olympia Acoustic Festival brought over a dozen artists together for an entire day of acoustic celebration. We hope you enjoy these photos from the fest!
